2016-26 Statewide Trails Strategic Plan
  • CPW Site:
"This Statewide Trails Strategic Plan and the State Trails Program aim to ensure that program direction and efforts are consistent with other cooperators, funders, stakeholders, and ultimately service the expectations and needs of Colorado’s residents and visitors."

State Wildlife Action Plan (SWAP)
"The State Wildlife Action Plan’s (SWAP) purpose is to outline and prioritize each of Colorado’s conservation needs. This process allows us to stay consistent in our conservation efforts and in coordinating with other members of Colorado’s wildlife conservation community and stakeholders. While it is not a regulatory document, we are required to revisit and reformulate it every ten years in order to continue receiving federal State Wildlife Grants, which significantly support several conservation projects"

Colorado State Trails Program
"Colorado Parks and Wildlife's (CPW) Trails Program, a statewide program within the division, administers grants for trail-related projects on an annual basis. Local, county, and state governments, federal agencies, special recreation districts, and non-profit organizations with management responsibilities over public lands may apply for and are eligible to receive non-motorized and motorized trail grants. Successful trail projects must support the goals of the State Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORP) and the Strategic Plan of the State Trails Program."
